ZAWare CC was established in 2001 and is situated in Durbanville, Cape Town, South Africa. Programming on Cupboard Manager began in 1997. As a part-time cabinet maker, I developed the software to help myself in creating cutting lists and quotations. Initially I developed a project in Excel. I was interested in programming and taught myself to write programs using Turbo Pascal and subsequently developed Cupboard Manager using Delphi. As a result of suggestions (and pressure) from customers the program evolved to what it is today and it will continue to be even better in future. After upgrading from Delphi 2010 to Delphi XE2 in December 2011, I began working on Cupboard Manager 3D, which were released in June 2012.
As part of Cupboard Manager, we developed a cutting optimizer, to help calculating board quantities for easy and quick quotations. In 2005 we were asked by Chipboard Cafe to develop a Board Optimizer that could run on its own and print on labels. Subsequently Cut Manager came to existence and we are selling this to board shops.
Our first program was sold in 2001 to Bernard Mouton. Our first monthly customer was Attie Viljoen in 2003. Unfortunately Attie passed away in April 2006 after a motorcycle accident. RIP Attie.
